  The Cyranose® 320 can be used to quickly verify incoming raw materials at the delivery point. The technology can significantly reduce the amount of time and money spent analyzing those materials in a lab, as well as reduce the amount of materials handling. So far, the technology has successfully been used to verify chlorinated, aromatic, aliphatic, aminated, and oxygenated solvents, just to name a few.

The Cyranose® 320 has also been used frequently to detect off odors in plastic pellets, such as PTFE or polypropylene pellets. Pellet suppliers concerned about off odors caused by residual solvents can train the Cyranose 320 to identify the vapors from both acceptable and rejected plastic pellets, and then use it to control the quality of future pellets.

Meanwhile, leading chemical companies are currently evaluating Cyrano's technology to determine its use for a variety of additional chemical-related applications, including solvent verification and leak detection. And in the future, chip-based products made by Cyrano and connected wirelessly may be used to monitor leaks or pinpoint the source of an odor.
